Installing and configuring BroadCloud UC-Mobile

The UC-Mobile application is included in your UC-One package, and can be deployed on an iPhone or Android device.  UC-Mobile uses the BroadSoft BroadTouch Business Communicator (BTBC) Mobile client software to give end users access to communication services provided by their BroadCloud PBX.

This article describes how to download, install, and configure the UC-Mobile client application onto an Android or iOS mobile phone. It contains the following sections:

 

Downloading the UC-Mobile client app

Prior to downloading the UC-Mobile client app to your mobile device, you must configure the Mobility feature in your My Phone dashboard.

Configuring Mobility on your My Phone dashboard

To configure Mobility on your My Phone dashboard, proceed as follows.

  1. Log in to your My Phone dashboard.
  2. Select the My Numbers tab, and locate your mobile device number in the list.

  1. If your mobile device number does not appear in the My Numbers list, then enter your details in the Name and Phone number boxes to the right of the display, and then click Add.

Your mobile device number will now appear in your My Numbers list. This is important, as you will be selecting it later.

  1. Click the My Features tab.
  2. Select the Mobile App feature tab.

  1. Tick the checkbox, Activate Mobility with your mobile number and then, from the dropdown options, select your mobile device name.

  1. Choose whether to have an incoming call ring on your Desk phone or your Mobile phone, or on Both.
  2. Optionally, if required, tick the checkbox, Require Answer Confirmation.  Note that if this checkbox is ticked, you are required to press a key to accept and connect an incoming call.
  3. Click Save.

You are set up on your My Phone portal, and may now download the app to your mobile device.

Downloading the client app to your mobile device

  1. Ensure you have Internet access on your mobile device by accessing an app that utilises the Internet (such as a browser).

The links to download the client for Android and/or Apple devices are found in the My Features tab of the My Phone dashboard under the Mobile App feature. 

Note:
Alternatively, the download links are available in the Welcome email you received indicating you are licensed to use the mobile client.

  1. Right click on the Download button applicable to your device type, and select Copy link address.
  2. Transfer the link address to your mobile device, and tap Enter to begin the installation process on your mobile device.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the app on your mobile device.

 

Configuring UC-Mobile on your mobile device

Initial start-up

  1. Tap the icon to start the Mobile Client on your device.
  2. Review and Accept the Terms and Conditions.

Logging in

For the initial Sign-in to the client, proceed as follows.

  1. Enter the Username (number) and Domain listed in the Welcome email. For example, 2125551234@atvn.adpt-tech.com.
  2. Enter your password for MyPhone. Note, to view the password as you type, select Show Password.
  3. Optionally, you may select Remember Password and Sign In Automatically.
  4. Tap Sign in.

Proceed to Configuring Mobility on your Android phone, or Configuring Mobility on iPhone, as applicable.

Configuring Mobility on your Android phone

To configure Mobility on your Android phone, proceed as follows.

  1. Tap the Menu button on the phone.
  2. Select Settings, then select Call settings, then select Mobility.  
  3. Enter your Mobile Phone number.
  4. In Phones to Ring, select Both.
  5. Tick Enable, and tap OK.

  1. Optionally, turn on Answer Confirmation.

Note:
If Answer Confirmation is turned on, you are required to press a key to accept and connect an incoming call. This is useful if the mobile device is turned off or doesn't have cell coverage, so that unanswered calls are not placed in your cell phone voicemail.

The UC-Mobile app is now configured on your mobile device, and ready to use.

Configuring Mobility on your iPhone

To configure Mobility on your iPhone, proceed as follows.

  1. Click the Settings icon at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Select Call Settings.

  1. In the Telephone # box, enter your mobile number.
  2. Scroll down to Mobility.

  1. Turn Active On.

  1. Enter your Mobile Phone Number.
  2. In Phones to Ring, select Both.
  3. Optionally, turn on Answer Confirmation.

Note:
If Answer Confirmation is turned on, you are required to press a key to accept and connect an incoming call. This is useful if the mobile device is turned off or doesn't have cell coverage, so that unanswered calls are not placed in your cell phone voicemail.

  1. Tap, Done.

The UC-Mobile app is now configured on your mobile device, and ready to use.
