Microsoft Planner is a simple and visual way to organise teamwork. It acts as a virtual project office where you can create plans, assign tasks, share files and monitor progress.
In your work life, you may be part of several teams working on multiple projects and managing a huge amount of information. Planner helps you organise all the work, people and resources for the projects you are working on. Each plan has a board to help you organise work visually. It only takes minutes to set up a board and you can easily move things around as you develop your plan. As your project progresses, you can add files and notes, update and reassign tasks, have conversations with your team, and track progress. Everyone involved in the plan has access to the same information, so you’ll all be on the same page.
Each plan has a board, like a whiteboard that you add notes too. Drag and drop tasks, or cards, and assign them to team members. Add a deadline, comments and attach relevant files, so all the information you need is together in one place.
Cards can be organised into columns or ‘buckets’ according to the categories or sections you want. Then you’ll have you a dashboard of all the tasks involved in your project and it’s easy to see who is doing what. You can add comments to tasks and discuss aspects of the project as you work.
My tasks shows the tasks assigned to you across all your plans so you can organise your workload without having to write a separate to-do list. See outstanding tasks by team member to manage workloads and, if necessary, reassign tasks. At a higher level, you get a summary of all your projects, colour-coded to make it easy to see how things are progressing.
Planner works seamlessly across devices and platforms and integrates with the tools and resources you need to make your project a success like Outlook, Office files, and document libraries in SharePoint and OneDrive for Business.
