Changing your Connected Backup account  password

Your Connected Backup account password is used to access the Connected Backup user interface, or the Account Management Website (AMWS), also known as MyRoam. You may change your password by using the Connected Backup user interface or through MyRoam. However, if you have forgotten your password then you must contact Cloud Direct Customer Support to have it reset. This article describes how to change your Connected Backup password.

 

Changing your password using the user interface.

To change your password using the Connected Backup user interface, proceed as follows.

  1. From the Connected Backup user interface homepage, click the Settings button .

The Settings page opens, on the Account tab.

  1. Select Change Password.

The Change Password page opens.

  1. Enter your Current password, enter your New password, then Verify your New password.

Note:
Your password must contain the following:
a minimum of six alphanumeric characters
a maximum of 100 alphanumeric characters
at least one character that is different from the other characters
no leading or trailing spaces

  1. Click OK on the Change Password page.

The Account tab re-appears

  1. Click OK, or Apply, on the Account tab. (OK closes the Account tab, Apply leaves it open).

The user interface homepage reappears. Your password has now been changed.

 

Changing your password using MyRoam

MyRoam is a web-based application that lets users manage their Agent account online. Your Agent configuration determines whether you can access MyRoam and, if so, which of its functions are available to you. To change your password using MyRoam, proceed as follows.

  1. Right click the Connected Backup icon on the System Taskbar.

  1. Select Manage Account Online.

The Backup Account Management login page appears.

Note:
The Backup Account Management login page may also be accessed in other ways:
Either from the Connected Backup user interface, by clicking the Settings button , selecting the Application tab, then selecting Manage Account Online.
Or, alternatively, the login page may be accessed from a Web browser by typing in www.cloudirect.net/myroam .

  1. Enter your Email Address and current Password.
  2. Click Sign In.

The Connected Backup Account Management page opens.

  1. From the left hand navigation pane, click Edit Profile. Alternatively, click Edit Profile from the main Summary pane.

The Edit Profile page opens.

  1. In the Account Credentials section of the Edit Profile page, click Change Password.

The Change Password page opens.

  1. Enter your Old password, enter your New password, then Confirm your new password.

Note:
Your password must contain the following:
a minimum of six alphanumeric characters
a maximum of 100 alphanumeric characters
at least one character that is different from the other characters
no leading or trailing spaces

  1. Click Save.

The following message appears, confirming your password has been changed.
