The anatomy of Azure Site Recovery

Azure Site Recovery replicates your on-premise physical servers and virtual machines to Azure. Or, if you have a secondary data centre, it can replicate there. If an outage occurs in your primary location, you failover to the secondary location within moments. Your applications and workloads will continue to be available. When normal operations resume, you fail back to your primary location. It’s as simple as that.

  1. Secure, continuous health monitoring
    Azure Site Recovery monitors the state of your protected systems continuously and remotely. When replicating to Azure as the secondary site, your data is encrypted, and you can also select encryption for data at rest.
  2. Orchestrated disaster recovery
    With Azure Site Recovery, you can automate the orderly recovery of services in the event of a site outage at the primary data centre. Applications can be brought up in an orchestrated fashion to restore service quickly, even for complex multi-tier workloads.
